Our Place

At the foot of Cobb Hill in Moretown, Central Vermont, Horses & Pathfinders is located by way of the Mad River Scenic Byway, considered the entryway to the Mad River Valley. This open, working farmland, now owned by Jonathan Larsen, once belonged to a larger, working dairy farm as shown by the mid-century rustic cow barn and towering silo that the horse barn overlooks. From almost any vantage point the view includes pastoral rolling corn fields, layers of mountains and the grand confluence of the Mad and Winooski Rivers, two prime wildlife corridors. Our place is home to a red fox family, beaver, white tailed deer, black bear, wild turkey, river otter, turkey vulture, red tail hawk, pileated woodpecker, Canada geese, bald eagle and a variety of other animal kin.

"The sages of old studied living things to a point of realization that [the Spirit] within us is most perfectly understood through a knowledge of supreme handiwork - animate and inanimate nature. Every existing cretaure manifests some aspect of intelligence or power . . ." Manley P. Hall, The Secret of Teachings
